Help for Receding Hair Lines

Thirty one years ago Richard Tacon of Richard’s Hair & Scalp Specialists Inc. introduced a new concept in treating hair and scalp conditions. Tacon has since altered client hair from going to growing and is now using emu oil in conducting some extensive emu oil hair / scalp studies.

"I started out testing the oil on myself", says Tacon. "In one test I washed my hair using the pure oil. The hair looked and felt better. Hair looks excellent and appears to have more body. I am very impressed with the results thus far. I believe in the oil."

Excited with the oil’s background (native Australian Aborigines have used emu fat for centuries) Tacon is pressing forward with investigations. "The integral properties of the oil have only recently been documented and there’s still so much more to learn," relates Tacon. "There will be additional research conducted later as well but I’m going to perform my research now. I will start using the oil on patients and documenting evidence including taking photographs."

Tacon’s plans include developing an emu oil shampoo and conditioner as well as additional hair / scalp products to be used in treatments. But can lost hair actually grow back? Says Tacon: "The papilla located at the base of the hair follicle doesn’t die, but goes into a dormant or resting stage and can remain in this condition for 20 to 25 years. I don’t believe that a person who is bald for 20 years cannot grow their hair back. I treated a patient who had been bald for 24 years and four months later he had hair over 3/4 of an inch thick in length on his scalp - pigmented. I have a feeling that this emu oil is going to stimulate the papilla if done properly."

Tacon is also developing an inexpensive and lightweight head scalp unit designed to stimulate blood circulation to the top of the scalp and to be used in conjunction with emu oil formulation application treatments. Tacon relates that typical heal units are usually bulky and costly. His unit is currently awaiting patent pending in the U.S. and Canada.
